Quantity Surveyor
Job description
The Quantity surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects. He / She will ensure that construction projects are completed within its projected budget. The Quantity surveyor will also assist with bidding and project budgeting, contract negotiating, and the submission of bills to the clients.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Cost estimate, cost planning, and cost management.
• Analyzing terms and conditions in the contract.
• Predicting potential risks in the project and taking precautions to mitigate such.
• Forecasting the costs of different materials needed for the project.
• Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, and other documentation.
• Take note of changes made and adjusting the budget accordingly.
• Tender management including preparation of bills of quantities, contract conditions and assembly of tender documents.
• Contract management and contractual advice.
• Valuation of construction work.
• Claims and dispute management.
• Lifecycle costing analysis.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying; or Building Economics; or any other related field from a recognized University/Institution.
Skills and experience
• Must have at least 5+ years’ work experience in supervision and management of projects post.
• Registration with the relevant professional body.
• Proof of experience in working in complex civil works environments, particularly in the field of construction supervision and management.
• Proof of experience in implementation of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects.
• Proof of experience in contract management, project management, research, strategic theme development, procurement, and programming-related work.
• Proof of experience in working on large infrastructure projects will be an added advantage.
