Job Details:
Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung Africa is part of the Germany based foundation "Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung" (HRNS); a not-for-profit organization established in 2005. With the objective of promoting sustainable development, HRNS implements hands-on projects to improve working and living conditions of small-scale coffee farmers. Its activities concentrate on the economic and social development of producer communities by enhancing their competitiveness, forming and strengthening farmer organizations, creating better market linkages and promoting access to important support services, while at the same time promoting sustainable coffee farming and longterm use of natural resources.
HRNS wishes to recruit staff for the following position for one of its projects in Mubende district.
Job title: Field Officer
Key qualification:
• A university degree in agriculture or related field
Experience required:
• At least 5 years' experience working in agricultural extension work in rural communities/locations
• Strong knowledge and experience in agronomy and climate change adaptation for coffee and seasonal crops will be an added advantage
• Strong knowledge and experience in financial literacy and Village, Saving and Loans Associations will be an added advantage.
• Experience working with youth is an added advantage
• Good knowledge of the Luganda language is required
• Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding license & at least two years of riding experience
