Job Details:
Reporting to the Vessel Chief Engineer, the 3rd Engineer is
responsible for the efficient performance of the Engine room.
Accountabilities
• 1 In charge of the 4 – 8 engine room watch.
• Conducts inspections, maintenance and repair works in the Engine room.
• Makes entries
• Keeps the vessel Engine room documents including the main Log book, oil discharge logbook.
• Requisitions for materials
• Accounts for materials
• Keeps records
• Provides reports to the Chief Vessel Engineer 2 Supervision of the Engine Room Attendants.
• Supervises the Engine Room Attendants
• Schedules their work
• Creates a conducive work environment
• 3 Assists the Chief Engineer in performing duties with specific assignments
• Carries out specific assignments on behalf of the Chief Engineer including maintenance of fire , pollution, and lifesaving equipment:
• 4 Performs other duties assigned
• Willingly carries out other duties
Qualifications/Requirements:
• At least a marine Engineer four class Certificate of Competency.
• Skills in Computer applications particularly; Microsoft Access, Excel, Word.
• Capable of working under pressure
• Ability to work with people of diverse cultural /ethnic background, gender, and

• Experience & Training:
• At least three (3) years’ experience as at least 3rd Engineer.
Knowledge & Skills:
• Team player,
• Good communication skills,
