Job Details:
Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL) is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of two (2) sugar estates, one in Kakira - Jinja and the other in Kayunga. We seek to recruit dynamic, competent and experienced candidates to fill various vacant positions in the company.
Job title: Talent and Performance Management Specialist
Reports to: Talent & Organizational Development Manager
Overall purpose of the job.
To, prepare reports and evaluate current performance trends, advise the management team on potential performance risks and strategic decisions in alignment with business objectives and legislation.
Specific duties/ Accountabilities:
• Performance Management
• Manage all departmental performance issues.
• Devise and implement policies and strategies for the development of departmental performance matters.
• Coordinate and facilitate the communication to all staff of performance issues including the preparation of reports for managers and committees and giving presentations.
• Plan and implement a comprehensive performance management function for services across the department.
• Talent Management
• Determine current staffing needs and produce forecasts
• Lead employment branding initiatives
• Perform sourcing to fill open positions and anticipate future needs
• Plan and conduct recruitment and selection process (interviews, screening calls e.t.c)
• Take steps to ensure positive candidate experience
• Assist in employee retention and development
• Supervise HR coordinators
• Organize and/or attend career fairs, assessment centers or other events
• Use metrics to create reports and identify areas of improvement
Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor or Master Degree in Business or HR and several years of experience in Human resources.
Experience, Skills and Competences:
3 years in a supervisory position preferably in a large organization. Analytical thinking, Dynamic, quality of Service, Communication, Teamwork. Results Driven, Agile and Performance.
Skill
• Analytical Thinking. Dynamic development of departmental performance matters.
• Coordinate and facilitate the communication to all staff of performance issues including the preparation of reports for managers and committees and giving presentations.
• Plan and implement à comprehensive performance are applied by the business to assess and drive productivity optimization.
• The HR Business Partner is also tasked with maintaining healthy relationships across the business. In this capacity. he conducts regular meetings with the various business departments, builds, and develops trusted relationships with the various departmental leaderships.
• Oversees and manages complex employee-relations issues, supporting formal appeals and hearings while simultaneously coaching the relevant managers on management best practices.
• The HR Business Partner also works collaboratively with departmental heads throughout the business, assisting them in understanding compensation and rewards programs, training and development programs,
• The HR Business Partner additionally works closely with the stakeholders ensuring that they are accessing the most relevant/suitable labor and development programs while supporting the design and development of new/improved labor and development programs
• The HR Business Partner has an obligation to maintain an in-depth knowledge of the legal requirements, internal and external, related to the day-to-day management of employees within the business, reducing legal risks, guaranteeing regulatory compliance, and most importantly enabling employee satisfaction and retention.
Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
Education:
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or any other related field. He must also have an appropriate people management qualification such as CIPD 1 certification SHRM and a member HRMAIL
• The HR Business Partner has an obligation to maintain an in-depth knowledge of the legal requirements, internal and external, related to the day-to-day management of employees within the business, reducing legal risks, guaranteeing regulatory compliance, and most importantly enabling employee satisfaction and retention.
Knowledge, qualifications & Experience Education:
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business or any other related field. He must also have an appropriate people management qualification such as CIPD certification, SHRM and a member of HRMAU.
Experience, Skills and Competences:
Minimum of 2 years of working experience in a junior HR position, preferably working as junior support personnel in the HR department, demonstrate a strong understanding and experience working with multiple human resource disciplines.
Communication Skills:
The position demands constant interactions with employ management, and stakeholders throughout the business therefore, communication skills are an absolute
Ms Office: A candidate for this position must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint, all necessary creation of not only visually but verbally engaging reports, presentations, and proposals for department n and management, stakeholders.
Analytical Skills:
A candidate for this position must be capable of gathering interpreting raw information and data, documenting findings, and drawing appropriate recommendations.
SHRM-CP or certified facilitator
Experience, Skills and Competences:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
• Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
• Ability to design and implement effective training and development
• Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
• SAP/HCM knowledge added advantage
