Job title: Commercial Supervisor
Location: Kampala, Albert Lake production installation base or other cities in Uganda if required.

Primary function
• To support negotiations and implementation of upstream commercial agreements, as well as facilitate and provide the solution on commercial matters during the operations.
• Assess commercial agreements and identify areas of value erosion, develop strategies to rectify the issues, as well as maximize value.
• Assess existing commercial activities as well as new business opportunities and undertake sensitivity analysis to ensure financial returns align with company business objectives.
• Attend meetings with government and JV stakeholders and initiate commercial actions items arising.
• Closely work with multi-disciplinary teams including LA Lifting Operations Coordinator to implement commercial principles of crude oil allocation and lifting to refinery and EACOP.
• Supervise company crude oil and gas sales from a local commercial perspective and ensure that all contractual obligations, nominations and deadlines are met.
• Keep abreast of crude oil and gas market prices and trends, and ensure economic tools to support sales are robust.
• Support implementation of management tools and processes to effectively monitor, control, assess, and report commercial performance.
• Monitor changes in legislations and industry dynamics to keep updated and formulate strategies to foster renegotiation of aspects of commercial agreements and contracts.
• Build strong working relations with government and JV partners and encourage transparency and knowledge sharing to deliver commercial value.
• Identify, assess and recommend commercial growth opportunities, using economic evaluation and commercial appraisal processes, provide succinct recommendations on commercial structure, risk mitigations and value optimization to Commercial Manager.
• Support the preparation of unit / section budget and work plans for approval by JV partners and the regulator.
• Liaise with C&P, the procurement of specialized consultancy services to provide commercial expertise assistance such as feasibility studies, oil and gas market studies, etc.
• Provide support on all commercial matters and negotiations relating to the COSA, Gas sales, JAA and PPA as well as LA OCLA and LA CDCAA agreements and restructured cost sharing agreements.
• Contribute to development of risk matrices to be incorporated into operational / project management reviews.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time and support other contractual requirements as deemed necessary


Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or above in Petroleum Geosciences, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Business, Legal or relevant commercial discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience in a commercial or similar role, preferably in the Oil and Gas / Energy sector, Experience in drafting and interpretation of contractual documentation
• Experience in Project Economics and Investment Analysis is an advantage Knowledge
• Knowledge of company legal, engineering, development and commercial processes:
• Familiarity with upstream oil and gas sector is advantageous:
• Extensive knowledge of commercial agreements and working with economic models
