About Us:
Windle International Uganda (WIU) is a registered INGO whose mission is to promote peace and development in communities through provision and coordination of Education and training for Refugees and people affected by conflict.
Windle International Uganda is the lead partner of UNHCR in implementing Education Projects in Uganda with close collaboration with the Government of Uganda through the Office of the Prime Minister. With funding from UNHCR, WIU seeks to recruit a suitably qualified person for the following position:

Position: Office Guard
Reports To: Senior Administration Officer
Location: Kampala

Overall Purpose And Scope Of The Job:
The Office Guard will be responsible for any loss of property in the office, ensure the safety of WIU
Staff and property at the designated location.

Key Duties And Responsibilities:
• Safety and Security
• Ensure the safety and security of all WIU staff and property.
• The guard should also ensure the safety and security of visitors to the organization and their property
• Check persons and vehicles moving in and out of the field office/school.
• Conduct temperature checks for guests and follow the required SOPs for the prevention of COVID- 19
• Ensure proper records of persons and vehicles entering the field office/school.
• Record and report any security related incidents to the immediate supervisor.
• Monitor the Organization’s surveillance Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Screen and alert
• Supervisor in case of any inconsistencies or cause for alarm.
• Ensure proper functioning of the electric fence and alarm system in place.
• Clear all entry points and ensure access to authorised persons only (seek conformation with officer)
• Environment and Surrounding Areas
• Keep the Head Office compound cleaned, presentable, and well-maintained.
• Schedule and conduct routine surveillance of the property and surrounding areas during every shift
• The guard must keep time every day and at every shift, ensuring that he/ she arrives ten minutes before his/ her shift.
• Comprehensively hand over to the contracted security team at the end of every shift
• The guard should provide assistance and guidance to visitors; inform staff of arriving guests and direct them to the reception when authorized.


Relevant Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of UCE/ O-level certificate
• At least 3 years of experience under professional security operation or working security at a
• reputable (I)NGO
• Should be able to provide references from previous employers
