Job Details:
Kakira Sugar Limited is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of 2 (two) sugar estates, one in Kakira- Jinja and the other in Kayunga. We seek to recruit dynamic, experienced and competent candidates to fill various vacant positions in the company.
Job Title: Supervisor - Agricultural Workshop 03 Posts
Job Ref: 2020.01.22/AG-M-AU-03
Reporting to the Agricultural Workshop Superintendent and;
Will be responsible for:
• Reviewing repairs, orders, specify spare parts requirements and initiate requisition for approval by Tractor Garage Superintendent.
• Supervising the routine repair and maintenance of heavy equipment in accordance with assignment schedules and to check all completed work.
• Providing technical guidance and advice to technicians and artisans as and when requested and give them on the job training to enhance skills capacity building.
• Keeping proper records on new work being brought, pending or completed work after inspection, on spares and lubricants used.
• Attending to breakdowns or accidents occurred outside the workshop or outside the estates and ensuring the safe recovery of the vehicles up to the workshop.
• Supervising the fuel status and other personal items /equipment available in the vehicle while coming for service and ensuring that they are in the vehicle while releasing them.
• Checking the spares available periodically in the main store.
• Checking the attendance and punctuality of staff, controlling and disciplining them and assisting them in their performance appraisal.
• Adhering to and enforcing the Safety, Health and Environment policy of the company.
• Performing any other duties that may be assigned to you by the Agricultural Workshop Superintendent Management from time to time. Please note that you may be required to work anywhere within the company.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be holder of any of the following:
• A Diploma in Mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or their equivalent obtained from a recognized institution.
• However, applicants with Motor Vehicle Mechanic Certificate Level II with ten years' experience may also apply.
Experience:
• Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years hands on experience in an engineering consultancy, engineering fabrication or engineering construction environment.
