Job Details:
JOB ROLE/ PURPOSE:
The Officer Corporate Informer Management will be responsible for handling informers and information submitted about tax evasion.
- Provide support to both Internal and external clients in accessing the informer management function to increase client compliance and better tax fraud management
- Receive informer/whistleblower cases from Supervisor for monitoring and Follow up.
- Liaise with Departmental liaisons of Domestic Taxes, Tax Investigations Department and Customs Department to monitor case status.
- Maintain a database of cases handled
- Update of the online systems in collaboration with the Departmental liaisons to enable informers to fill in the appropriate information required.
- Prepare Informer rewards to ensure all informers are rewarded as per the URA policy
- Collaborate with the Departmental liaisons regarding the reward files being processed.
- Collaborate with Commissioner-General’s office to ensure that the reward files are forwarded in the required time.
- Follow up the processing of informer rewards approved by the Commissioner-General.
- Notify informers whose rewards have been paid.
- Submit the list of reward cases handled to Supervisor Corporate Informer Management.
- Prepare information for pending informer payment, that has been verified to be approved by the IMC
- Manage informer database to ensure that the information is reliable and up to date for use and reference by URA and other stakeholders.
- Check the informer email to monitor inquiries coming in and respond to issues raised.
- Manage the online tool and corporate Informer Management Office Registers to keep track of active and inactive cases and provide a weekly and monthly basis report to AC PCA on the same.
- Maintain records of the files of each case that is submitted or opened and ensure all records are maintained in line with the records management guidelines of URA.
- Provide information requested by other stakeholders in and outside URA as authorized by the Corporate Informer Management Committee.
- Review and analyse cases that need to be presented before the informer management committee on the same.
- Organize working files and logistics for the weekly IMC meetings
- Organise and schedule meetings for the weekly informer management committee members
- Provide Secretarial services to the Informer Management Committee
- Implement and follow up on feedback mechanism to the Informers to ensure accountability from of both parties
- Follow up with the departments for updates on cases being handled to provide feedback to informers.
- Provide monthly feedback to informers.
- Collect additional information requested from informers and provide it to the departments for processing.
- Draft communications to informers for the attention of the Supervisor regarding the cases that require written feedback.
- Record Walkins, Phonecalls, emails and take note of issues raised by informers for follow up.
- Maintain a resource centre of vital information for the Corporate Informer Management Unit for purposes of exchange of information
- Provide a detailed report to the Supervisor of all informer cases
- Sensitization of staff and other stakeholders to ensure proper dissemination of information as per URA informer policy
- Draw a schedule for staff sensitization in conjunction with the departmental liaisons.
- Carry out sensitizations in various stations countrywide.
- Handle sensitization of informers using various media tools.
- Develop and submit a report to the Supervisor Corporate Informer Management Unit.
Qualifications

Essential Requirements
- An honor's bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business Management, Education, Mass communication
Desirable Requirements
- Certificate in Intelligence Studies
- Experience in Intelligence work
Knowledge
• Knowledge of Tax Laws
