The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a world leader in relief, rehabilitation and post-conflict development services for those uprooted or affected by violent conflict and oppression. The IRC is currently working in over 30 countries around the world, addressing both the immediate and lifesaving needs of conflict affected people in emergencies and the reconstruction needs of post-conflict societies.
The IRC has been working in Uganda since 1998 supporting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), refugees and local communities. IRC Uganda has a country office in Kampala and field offices in Amudat, Imvepi, Isingiro, Kitgum, Kyegegwa, Lamwo, Moroto and Yumbe. Specifically to health and nutrition, the IRC implements programming in Kasese, Kyegegwa, Lamwo, Moroto and Yumbe districts. The current country program portfolio includes health and nutrition, protection and rule of law, women’s protection and empowerment, and economic recovery and development programming.
With effect from 01 January 2020, the IRC will be taking on the implementation of primary health care in the refugee settlements in Arua and Moyo districts. The IRC is conducting a recruitment exercise to identify suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill various positions in these locations. See full list of vacancies below.

ELIGIBILITY

All Medical Teams International (MTI) staff currently working in Arua and Moyo, who meet the stated requirements (qualifications, experience and skills) for the position.

HOW TO APPLY

Recruitment teams from the IRC will be traveling to the various facilities in Arua and Moyo from 19 November to conduct screening exercises for all existing MTI staff who are interested in applying for a position with the IRC in the Arua or Moyo health program. The date when the recruitment team will be in your location is indicated in the attached timetable.
The screening process for all eligible staff will consist of the following steps:
1) Submitting the following documents to the recruitment team:

a. Brief application letter/expression of interest
b. CV or completed IRC application form (copy attached)
c. Copy of National ID or other ID, but come with original.
d. Original qualification documents/certificates and a copy for the team to keep
e. Professional Licenses (where applicable) and a copy
f. LC1 Letter – this can be submitted later if not available when the team comes
g. Completed IRC Background Check Authorization Form (copy attached)
h. Reference from MTI – which we can obtain direct from MTI
2) Have a brief discussion/interview with the panel.
3) All applications will be reviewed and the suitability of the candidates for the new positions will be assessed. Please note that the number of staff required (for certain positions) may vary, due to reduced funding and changes in programming.
4) The IRC pre-employment checks will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates.
We aim to issue offer letters and contracts of employment to the successful candidates as quickly as possible after the checks and clearances have been completed, by mid- December 2019 at the latest.
