JOB DETAILS:
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage i electricity distribution network and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd's investment, generation, and distribution of power in eight territories covering over 67 Districts, operation of the pole plant at Lugogo, and execution of some rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The Company is seeking to recruit qualified, competent and highly motivated Ugandans for the following roles: . Job Purpose: 

To set up the Planning Unit for UEDCL, to develop and Manage Networks operations to cut down on energy Losses and help reduce the tariffs. Coordinates all the Sector Plans.
Principal accountabilities:
• Timely development of plans to address quality of supply issues. • Develop asset performance database for the distribution network • Supervise Load flow simulations for the entire distribution network • Planning material requirement to ensure no stock outs • Overseeing the efficient planning of loss reduction projects in the region (both commercial and technical loss reduction projects) • Coordinating to ensure an updated Distribution Network in the GIS database • Planning and costing of non-standard services • Approval and commissioning of contractors works • Ensure Quality Assurance and Control (Value for Money on projects) • Support the achievement of the UEDCL’s cost and efficiency targets through efficient management of the regional capital expenditure.
